Canary Islands, as of January 31, 2020The national secretary general of Coalition Canaria, José Miguel Barragán, held a working meeting in Fuerteventura today in Fuerteventura with all the secretaries-general of nationalist formation with the aim of continuing progressing in the preparations for the VII Political Congress to be held in May.

At the working meeting at which the island secretaries of the seven islands were present, Mario Cabrera (Fuerteventura), Migdalia Machín (Lanzarote), Pablo Rodríguez (Gran Canaria), Francisco Linares (Tenerife), Víctor Chinea (La Gomera), Lady Barreto (La Gomera Palma) and Narvay Quintero (El Hierro) and the Secretary General of Youth, David Toledo. As explained by Barragán, the objective of this meeting that takes place before the debate before the debate before our VII Congress began was to "take the pulse" and serve as a joint and framework for reflection on how they see from the general secretariats "how we should deal with the congressual appointment and, most importantly, what project model we want to have behind it". In this sense "and before each organization began with internal discussions in order to participate in the elaboration of the three presentations that will come out of Congress he wanted," the secretary general continued, "knowing what lines of debate, analysis and reflection were they are opening on every island." For Barragán, this VII Congress "should serve us to strengthen the internal organization of Coalition Canaria so that, now from the opposition, it can continue to contribute to the progress of our Archipelago and remain useful to The Canarian society". In this regard, he recalled that this VII Congress would propose three presentations that will soon begin to be worked on by teams of work made up of militants from all the islands since the intention was that the documents will arrive in the Congress enriched with the contributions from the debate on the basis. The three presentations will deal with the following issues: The party model, the Canary Islands of the 21st century, which the youth organization has requested to lead, and a third on the Canary National Identity. The objective, as noted by the Secretary-General of nationalist formation, is to get this VII Congress to generate a movement of internal debate and reflection with a wide participation of local committees and island organizations. Barragán noted that the organization will enable spaces for discussion prior to the VII congress "with militancy and civil society" that began in February and will continue until the celebration of the same and in that line "the meeting that has been held today with the maximum organic representatives of our training kickoffs that necessary debate that we want to foster from CC."
