Today, Slavko Kojic, President of the Labour and Solidarity Party, and Nenad Predovan, President of the Party's General Committee and Vice-President of the City Assembly of the City of Zagreb at the Brezovica Memorial Park near Sisak laid flowers on the occasion of the Day of Anti-Fascist Struggle, June 22nd, in memory of the day when the First Partisan Detachment and the first anti-fascist unit in Croatia and this part of Europe were established 81 years ago.The great world tragedy from the first half of the 20th century.

The 19th century, which has also left severe consequences on our territories and caused great suffering, is a warning to all generations that a democratic society in which man, regardless of nation, religion and color of skin, feels like a true human being, can only be built on values such as freedom, peace, equality, pluralism and tolerance. That is why anti-fascism, as part of the world and European historical heritage, is embedded in the foundations of modern democratic societies and has also found its place in our constitution. To those who, in a dark episode of world history, have stood up for freedom and democratic principles, we owe gratitude and the memory of their great sacrifice. We are also obliged, for the sake of ourselves and generations to come, to be committed advocates of universal human values, and we must build the future on the principles of solidarity, fairness, tolerance and respect for human rights, and insist on the dignity of every man.
