Jana Černochová: Increasing defence spending to 2% of GDP is a necessity (www.ods.cz ) The government is once again failing to keep its promises and reinstate from increasing defence spending to 2% of GDP.

The ODS sees this increase as necessary and refuses to allow defenceto pay for irresponsible management. It is not possible to continuously increase operating costs and dissolve reserves." The government is retreating from our commitment to increase defence spending to 2% of GDP. It comes as I've been warning for years -- the state budget has already fallen into deficit in January, and a left-wing government based on communists will seek the means to fulfill its populist commitments to voters and for pre-election donations. As an ODS, we unequivocally refuse to be a victim of irresponsible farming, with reserves dissolving and selling raw materials and steadily increasing staffing. This policy is irresponsible, it threatens the credibility and reputation of our country, but especially our defences and security. It is high time to approve our proposal to legally enshrine defence spending of 2% of GDP. It is the easiest and fastest way to achieve what we have promised,"says Jana Černochová, Chair of the Defence Committee and first vice-chair of the ODS.1 Parliamentary Group. Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Chamber of Deputies of the Chamber of Deputies
