Compulsory social service should be given to compulsory problem-school young people leaving school.

Pieter Heerma launched that idea this week. The government is introducing a voluntary social service time, but according to Heerma this is not a solution for these young people. Young people who become involved in drug crime or incidents of violence benefit more from a mandatory social service. "I want to offer these problem youth an alternative opportunity. For some young people, there is no alternative. If you see how part of our youth goes wrong, you as a society will have to do something different."
