The Organization of Liberal Democratic Women from ALDE joins the efforts of information and education for a healthier Romania, without cancer.

Throughout the month of October, a month dedicated worldwide to the awareness and prevention of breast cancer, OFLDE will carry out actions of empowerment and solidarity with the women diagnosed with this disease. The MEMBERS OFLDE assume, within the campaign «Prevention SAVES LIFE!», to be more present and involved in the life of the communities they represent, understanding that health is, especially in the current pandemic context, the result of good decisions, taken on time. Liberal Democratic women from all counties of the country will distribute informative materials through which they set out to draw attention to the fact that early diagnosis is the first step in the fight against breast cancer, and the therapeutic options currently in place ensure a greater chance of cure." We say YES for breast cancer prevention, because we do not want to let this disease defeat the dear women next to us! Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women and the second leading cause of death from malignant tumors after lung cancer. The statistics call for solidarity: it is estimated that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with this disease throughout their lives. We intend, through the campaign we run in October, «Prevention SAVES life!», to draw an alarm signal about the importance of periodic medical check-ups, which are the most effective form of prevention. Breast cancer can be defeated, especially when it is detected in the early stages. It is especially important to do the routine investigations, to know and pay attention to the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. My colleagues from the Liberal Democratic Women's Organization and I will talk to women of all ages and tell them that the simple recommendation "Go to control!"" means care for our loved ones. Because a timely check saves lives!", said Mihaela Hușanu, president of the Liberal Democratic Women's Organization (OFLDE) in ALDE. During street meetings, Liberal Democrat women will share pink sanitary masks in solidarity and empathy with patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
