The Social Democrat deputies supported the continuation of the position of Minister of Education and Research Kristina Kallas in a vote in the Riigikogu tonight.

According to Raimond Kaljulaid, who spoke on behalf of the Social Democrats, the reason for the motion of censure was the election campaign of the opposition parties, which cannot be taken too seriously. "Kristina Kallas is leading the reform of the transition to Estonian-language education. And, truth be told, the opposition failed to point out, either today or before, any substantive problems in managing this change, which would require such intervention from the Parliament that we should remove the minister from office.  All in all, we are dealing with a competent and wise minister, a good leader," Kaljulaid said.
