For too long, the Danish Government has looked the other way and allowed Netanyahu's government to continue its insane war in Gaza.

Words have no effect on the Netanyahu government. Action is needed. That is why the Unity List is now putting forward three proposals in a new sanctions package to put massive pressure on Israel to stop the hostilities in Gaza.The Unity List is tabling three resolutions, all of which will be debated on Tuesday 16 April. Unity List foreign policy spokeswoman Trine Pertou Mach says:Every day, the media is full of reports of the Israeli military's killing of innocent civilians in what Israel itself calls "self-defense." The warfare against Gaza is massive and disproportionate, and the disproportionate number of civilian deaths makes it difficult to reach any conclusion other than war crimes. No other state would be allowed to do what Israel does without harsh condemnation and reaction. When states violate international law so violently and when repressive regimes are to be influenced, economic sanctions are an obvious tool. Historically, we know that sanctions helped overthrow the apartheid regime in South Africa three decades ago. Therefore, we ask the government to consider what sanctions can be used to pressure the Israeli Government to comply with international law. Unity List foreign policy spokeswoman Trine Pertou Mach said: We must prevent war crimes from being committed with Danish weapons or weapon parts. Every single krone Denmark buys Israeli weapons for contributes to the war crimes in Gaza and to maintaining the illegal occupation, enabling the countless settlements in the West Bank and maintaining the system of oppression against the Palestinians. This must be stopped. Unity List foreign policy spokeswoman Trine Pertou Mach said: It is high time that Denmark recognized Palestine as an independent and sovereign state.
