The parliamentary group leader of the LMP is confident that there will be accountability in the bus procurement case in Pécs and that there will be politicians among those responsible.

László Lóránt Keresztes called the purchase of buses in 2014-2015 one of the most serious corruption cases in recent decades at his press conference in Pécs on Monday. He explained that Tüke Busz Zrt., owned by the municipality, bought the 115 used Volvo buses through a Dutch company for HUF 3.5 billion, as determined by the General Assembly. The vehicles could have been bought at least HUF 600 million cheaper, said the politician, who filed a complaint after the transaction with Gábor Gyimesi, a Jobbik MEMBER of the General Assembly, on suspicion of economic fraud. He added that "the case is in court, but we still don't have a clear picture of the political actors." During the court proceedings, at the request of the public prosecutor's office, the passenger lists between Hungary and the Netherlands were examined, which included several fidesz members of parliament at the time and current fidesz, said László Lóránt Keresztes.Péter Hoppál, a Fidesz MEMBER of Parliament from Pécs, should also tell us what he knows about this case, he said. He said that the Volvo fleet of 7-8 year old vehicles at the time of purchase is now ripe for replacement. He recalled that in 2020 he submitted a proposal to the National Assembly, initiating the government to help Pécs to buy buses, but "Péter Hoppál did not support this". Péter Hoppál did not speak out even when it was decided that the state had withdrawn from the financing of public transport, said the LMP politician. The government apparently wants to take the maintenance of local transport away from the cities that still operate it with their own company, said Lóránt Keresztes László.He said that the opposition's plan is to create a unified transport system after the change of government and to put the financing on a new footing.
