The Unity List strongly condemns Juan Guaidó, who, without being elected, single-handedly and anti-democraticly declared himself president of Venezuela.  Now former Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has invited Guaidó to Denmark to meet with his network.

In the same vebear, Fogh Rasmussen declares his support for the self-proclaimed leader and recognizes him as president of Venezuela. This is absurd, because the man has no legitimacy as president.  For the Unity List, it is essential that peoples elect their own leaders in open, transparent and democratic elections. Venezuela has been in deep social and economic crisis for many years, but the solution can never be to support a coup plotter as a self-styled president.
