With success and with a very large turnout, the event of remembrance and honor organized by our Party entitled: Cyprus Pontus Armenia: NO more Genocide took place! The event was preceded by a photo exhibition with rich material: This was followed by the laying of wreaths at the Monument of the Park of Cyprus – Armenian Friendship: The main speaker of the event was the President of the National Popular Front (ELAM) Christos Christou:   Honorary guest at the event was the Ambassador of Armenia to Greece and Cyprus, Mr.

TIGRAN MKRTCHYAN. Mr. MKRTCHYAN was presented with an honorary plaque by the President of ELAM as well as a commemorative gift:   They attended among many others: The Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Cyprus MARTIN MINASIAN, the representative of the Armenian Community in the Cyprus Parliament, BARTKES MAHTESIAN, the Ambassador of Slovakia and representatives of other Embassies, the Deputy Mayor of Strovolos George Chrysanthou, representatives of the Armenian Archdiocese and other Armenian organizations, schools and organized groups in Cyprus, the President of the Armenian Community of Pafos, members, friends and representatives of Armenian and Pontian associations. This was followed by a rich artistic program with traditional dances and songs (dance group NANOR – Gars group, Armenian choir of Cyprus and the singer Konstantinos Georgiou). Speakers were also the District ELAM of Nicosia George Toulas, the Colonel Ea Andy Loizou and the Director of the Press Office of ELAM Dimitris Souglis. All of them praised the necessity to keep the memory of the Armenian and Pontian Genocide unquenchable and referred to the common struggles and ties with Cyprus. At the same time, it was underlined that our semi-occupied homeland Cyprus is also a victim of our common enemy, Turkey! Presenters of the evening were comrades Andreas Kadis and Christina Agapiou: The event ended with a minute's silence and the hundreds of attendees sang together the National Anthems of Armenia and Greece:   Cyprus Pontus Armenia: NO more Genocide!
