Ramona Strugariu, USRPLUS MEP (Renew Europe), launches the project#NuTeLasaDusa, a company to raise awareness and identify the risks associated with the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings in Romania.

The project is organised through Renew Europe, in partnership with RoTIP, the European Centre for Education and Legal Research and Freedom House Romania, and is a continuation of the event held in December – Together against Trafficking in Persons. The central pillar of the campaign is the NuTeLasaDusa.ro website, a space for potential victims of human trafficking, lured by the Loverboy method, as well as their friends, families or loved ones. The site provides all interested parties with detailed explanations of how traffickers operate and recomposes the true story of a victim into an audio account, based on a series of interviews with several survivors of the phenomenon. According to European Commission statistics, Romania ranks first among eu states as the country of origin of victims of trafficking in human beings. Between 2017-18, out of the total 14,145 victims of trafficking in human beings identified by the Member States, most came from Romania. In the name of love, every year, thousands of Romanian romanians are lured, seized and forced into prostitution, at home or abroad. For many of these, beautiful love stories quickly turn into the biggest nightmares. Threatened with death, beaten and sexually exploited, tens of thousands of Romanian romanians hide voiceless suffering behind the perfect relationship. Through the platform, those interested learn to recognize the signs of human trafficking and the profile of a possible trafficker, learn to say NO to abuse, and learn how to protect themselves. The purpose of the campaign is to gather all this vital information in one place and make it as easily accessible as possible so that it can be read or listened to in minutes by anyone, on their mobile or desktop. The campaign message is promoted on social media, with priority to young women between the ages of 14 and 27, the main targetgroup of traffickers, and will be disseminated through the broadcast of radio spots and collaboration with some of the best-known content creators of the moment. Anyone who wants to help promote campaign messages can do so by:• Use one of the campaign visuals available here in a Facebook, Instagram post or on your personal blog. Forward the messages on the site and use the campaign hashtag: #NuTeLasaDusa.• Use the campaign videos in a Facebook or Instagram story or a post by TikTok.The campaign concept is signed by Vlad Tăuşance and his team: visual artist Wanda Hutira, actress Ilinca Manolache – who have also agreed to become a campaign ambassador – as well as director Paul Manolescu and musician Miche Marcu.
