The Azores need a "smart transport strategy".

José Manuel Bolieiro believes that only an effective air and sea transport network can enhance a "regional market that values each of the islands". In health, the PSD candidate for President of the regional government advocates a health service that "takes care of the Azoreans" throughout the archipelago, even on islands that do not have a hospital. Education is, in turn, the "real ballast to deal with the future", and should be "the top priority" of governance. "Schools are essential, but teachers are the essence of the educational process," he says. The paradigm of development of the Azores thus depends on accessible transport, a regional health service (SRS) of proximity and the qualification of the new generations.
