PSD managed to get the Government to keep schools open and organize regular non-invasive testing of studentsPSD achieved a major victory in the fight to keep schools open, safe for students and teachers.

After months of continuous pressure on the decision-makers in Education and Health, the Government has finally accepted the PSD's proposal to abandon the closure of schools according to the incidence rate and to ensure, in return, regular testing of students to prevent the occurrence of COVID-19 outbreaks. On Tuesday, at the hearing of the leadership of the Bucharest DSP in the Committee for Health and Family of the Chamber of Deputies, the PSD representative, Dr. Alexandru Rafila, pointed out that the incidence threshold of 6 per thousand for the closure of schools is only an arbitrary convention, which cannot justify the closure of schools where there is no case of COVID-19. PSD considers that the Government has the obligation to implement quickly, which it did not do during the summer holidays, namely to organize regular testing in schools, including through the use of non-invasive COVID-19 tests, which, even if not yet approved at european Union level, are widely used by many Member States for frequent testing of students.
